About the work
Edvard Munch produced several versions of “The Scream”. Its origins lie in 1892. Munch’s diary entry records his experience on a walk with friends at Ekebergåsen east of Oslo. “I was out walking with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with angst – and I sensed an endless scream passing through nature.”
From the powerful Munch originals to emojis of today – ‘The Scream’ is an ever-present motif that still speaks to our modern age.
This is a museum-quality archival print made using materials which will last for many years.
