Rondini

Rondini ( Swallows ) Gerardo Dottori. 1932.

This stunning work is uplifting in its dynamic simplicity – a frozen moment of natural wonder. This is a museum-quality archival print made using materials which will last for many years.

About the work
Rondini is a beautiful work of delight. A flight of swallows captured against a blue Italian sky. Painted in 1932 whilst Dottori lived in Rome, this work shows the artist’s deep connection with his homeland of Umbria in Italy’s heart and also his fascination with flight.

Gerardo Dottori is best known as a leading figure in the Aeropittura (Aeropainting) movement born of Italian Futurism. The movement focused on exploration of aerial subjects blending mysticism, fantasy, idealism and celebration of new technology. Dottori’s early-career works often featured landscapes and nature-inspired subjects of which Rondini is perhaps a most perfect expression. It is sure to be an  enjoyable and uplifting addition to your collection.

Made to last
This is a hand-finished, museum-quality archival print made using materials which will last for many years. It is printed in archival quality pigment inks on Somerset Velvet 255gsm acid free paper reproducing the original work. This heavyweight mould-made paper won’t yellow or degrade like inferior products. Our prints will stay true, bright and beautiful for years.
