These stunning lights are hand made and closely follow Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s famous ‘Teardrop and Rose’ design from around 1920. They are battery powered so can be conveniently used anywhere.
We’ve made these lights by combining modern LED technology with traditional arts and crafts skills to give a gorgeous product for your home. Use the lights to bring beauty to anywhere – no socket needed as they’re battery powered; hang them on a wall, bookshelf, have a Mackintosh-adorned christmas tree or houseplant!
Mackintosh produced the ‘Teardrop and Rose’ as a textile design whilst working in Chelsea, London. We’ve painstakingly replicated his hand colouring of the roses using a shaded watercolour technique. Printed on stiff paper using archival quality inks in rich vivid colour; when lit the roses glow softly. The effect is rich and beautiful; instantly a classic Mackintosh design is before you in stunning colour.
These lights are hand made in our Northampton studio and are exclusive to Duille.
As a hand made product no two light strings are identical – expect minor variations; it’s what Mackintosh did!
