This premium Duille design features the beautiful pencil and watercolour drawing of Fritillaria (Fritillaria meleagris) from 1915 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

About Fritillaria
The drawing was made in at Walberswick on the east coast of England where Mackintosh was living with his wife Margaret at that time. It is thought that this work, one of a series featuring wild flowers made around the same period, was intended for publication in a book.

Our card has been reproduced with kind permission directly from the original work held in the collection of The University of Glasgow. It’s full of vivid detail, vitality and charm. Mackintosh, clearly fascinated by the checkerwork petals of the plant, has decorated his signature panel with the same design. Throughout his entire life the study and representation of flowers was to be a driving passion and a defining foundation of the artist’s visual language.

Special features
Generously sized, the reverse of the card features further interesting information about the work along with a portrait of the artist.

The quality of the print is so good it could be framed!
